SASHA GABBE

Sasha is a teacher with a broad experience of differnet yoga styles including classical Hatha, Ashtanga, Yin and Restorative yoga.  She has been practising yoga since 1996 and teaching since 2012.  Sasha's early years were spent developing a creative path through the expressions of dance, theatre and visual arts. The practice of yoga is a continuation of this exploration and her personal journey into teaching yoga came through a transitional time in her own life.

Sasha's first 200 hour teacher training was studying Hatha yoga with Bharath Shetty, an Indian teacher in Mysore.  This was followed closely by a second 200 hour teacher training (Hatha and Ashtanga) with respected UK teachers Melanie Cooper and Laura Gilmore.  Since then Sasha has undertaken further training in Yin yoga with Norman Blair whom she regularly assists, and most recently has been studying restorative yoga with Judith Hanson Lassater.

Sasha enjoys a slow flow, with focus on foundation, breath and alignment in all postures, drawing influence from the dynamic practice of Ashtanga, as well as weaving in the softer and more yielding practices of yin and restorative yoga. She is particularly drawn to teaching Yin and Restorative yoga because it allows time to cultivate spaciousness in the body and mind. In her Vinyasa flow class you can expect a slow flow with some strong and long held postures to challenge the body and build strength and flexibility.
