YOGA FOR WRITING

Yoga for Writing with Stella Duffy

Yoga is not about getting the poses right, writing is not about getting the words right, they’re both about giving it a go.

We will connect yoga poses to writing exercises, exploring the physical nature of writing and how opening up body and breath can support our creativity.

This workshop is suitable for all levels of yoga and writing practice, and we welcome you to stay on after for lunch in our café to talk about your work with Stella and each other.

About Stella

Stella Duffy is an award-winning writer of 17 novels, 70+ short stories and 14 plays. Yoga has supported her writing practice for decades and she completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training this spring, with the aim of offering writing and yoga for others.

Praise for the last version of this workshop:
"The confidence Stella instils, not only to create stuff that’s good, but in not being fearful of creating stuff that’s not so good, is wonderful. And combining that with the bodywork was ridiculously liberating.”
Amy Beashel, author of “The Sky is Mine”

"Skilled teaching, so much generosity, wisdom, embodied practice, cutting through bullshit, encouragement and expertise-dressed-as-nurture. One of those experiences where I'll still be mining for riches long after it's over. If you get the chance to work with Stella and absorb this integrated work she's forging I can highly, highly recommend it.”
Beccy Owen, songwriter/musician
